Gene Dover, age 60, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Hamilton Medical Center.

He was the son of the late, Norma Jean Greeson and was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Dover, and daughter, Velma Dover.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Betty (Paul) Corley of Deltona, Fl., Regina (Ben) Hocking of Dalton, Jessica (Scottie) Brown of Tunnel Hill, Chrystal Colston and Nick Barnes of Tunnel Hill, Bettina Dover of Chattanooga; sons and daughter-in-law, Samuel (Hayley) Dover of Dalton, Ronnie Liner of Dalton, Matthew Dover of Dalton; stepfather, Wilburn Greeson; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce (Rusty) Maddox of Resaca; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survived.

The funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Frazier Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 5-8 p.m.

Georgia Coronavirus Cases Now Over 10,000; 369 Deaths

Georgia state health officials said Wednesday evening that another seven people have died from the coronavirus since Wednesday morning, bringing the total to 369. The confirmed cases are now over 10,000, at 10,189, up from 9,156 on Tuesday. Officials said 2,082 have been hospitalized in Georgia with the deadly virus - up from 1,899 on Tuesday. 7 More Die Of Coronavirus In Tennessee; Cases Go To 4,362

Tennessee now has 79 coronavirus deaths - up seven since the Tuesday report. Cases have gone up from 4,138 to 4,362. Officials said 449 people have been hospitalized in the state from coronavirus.
