Fire destroyed a home in the Harrison area on Friday afternoon.

At 2 p.m., a homeowner called 911 reporting a house fire located at 10055 Baker Boy Dr. Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department responded and arrived on the scene reporting a fully involved house fire.

Once firefighters confirmed everyone was out of the residence, firefighters worked quickly to get the fire under control. Since the house was endangering adjacent homes, Highway 58 VFD requested a Mutual Aid response to assist them with the fire.

Tri-Community VFD, Chattanooga FD,  East Ridge FD and Bradley County Fire Rescue responded to the fire scene. East Ridge FD and Bradley Co Fire Rescue brought additional trucks down to covered Highway 58 VFD Stations 1 and 2.

Fire officials reported no injuries but a family cat died in the fire. Hamilton County EMS was on the scene for potential injuries to the first responders. The cause of the fire will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. The home is a total loss and valued at over $400,000. The family will be staying with other family members.
