Siskin Hospital Initiates Children’s Art Program To Ease COVID-19 Tension, Increase Patient Morale

  • Monday, March 16, 2020

In the midst of uncertainty, Siskin Hospital believes a little child shall lead them.

Siskin Hospital is asking its associates and the community to have their children and grandchildren prepare “Get Well” artwork for its patients.

The Hospital will laminate the artwork for infection control purposes and post them in patient rooms across the hospital in the hope it will bring a little cheer during the unusual circumstances in which we are living and operating.

“Many of our patients have suffered life altering events due to illness or accident,” said President and CEO Matthew Gibson. “These are unsettling times and we want to do what we can to lift our patients’ spirits. There is nothing like the heart of a child and a child’s artwork just makes you smile. With area children out of school right now, this is a great time to engage the children in our community to help brighten our patients’ day.”

Artwork can be sent to Siskin Hospital, One Siskin Plaza, Chattanooga, TN 37403. It can also be dropped off at a drop box located just outside the Hospital’s main entrance.

With the temporary changes in visitation policy at healthcare facilities, it may be difficult to keep in touch with patients. Siskin Hospital has set up a dedicated email address for friends and family members of patients to contact them. Simply send messages to SiskinConnects@SiskinRehab.org and mention the patient’s name in the subject line. The associates will gladly see that their messages are delivered to the correct patient.
