Jerry M. Brown, 84, of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, in a Chattanooga hospice facility. 

He was the founder and owner/operator of Jerry’s Electric Motor Service.  Jerry enjoyed playing the steel guitar, doing yard work and doting on his three grandchildren.  He was a loving husband, father and loved being a Papaw.   He was a member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Almeda Pierce Brown; and siblings, Judy Crump, Eddie Brown and Alma Teague.

He is survived by his wife, Melva L. Brown; two children, Cynthia K. Brown and Jerry L. Brown (Melissa); three grandchildren, Abby Brown, Laney Brown and Henry Brown and several nieces and nephews.  The family would like to give special thanks to MJ Bartolo, Lora Baker, Michelle Brewer, Geneva Pendergrass, Wilma McCarter and Hospice of Chattanooga for their loving care.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 22, in the chapel of Fike-Randolph and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Shane Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Darrell Hammonds, Jason Hiefner, Ronnie Goss, Chris Boyd, Briton Helton and Ethan Vaughn serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John DeArmond, Robert Rominger, Gary Houston, Edd Lynn and Ken Ramsey. 

The family will receive friends from 2–3 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.

The family would ask that in lieu of flowers, that memorials be made in Jerry’s honor to the Clingan Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund, 2412 Georgetown Rd NW, Cleveland, Tn. 37311 or to the charity of your choice.
