Marlene L. Gladden, 80, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020, at her residence.

She was a faithful member of Greater Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed. She served on the Culinary Committee, Usher Board, Nurses’ Guild and sang in the choir.  She retired from ConAgra after many years of service.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lonnie Gladden, Sr.; brothers, Harrison Lofton, Warner Lofton, Leroy Lofton, and Rayfun Lofton; goddaughter, Latara Hughes.  Survivors include her children, Terrell (David) Stevens, Ramona (Dennis) Pratt, Lonnie (Michelle) Gladden, Jr., Kenneth (Talza) Gladden, Marcus (Tiffany) Gladden, and Tanika Gladden; 25 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lizzie Ball of Chattanooga and Alma Barnes of Orlando, FL; sisters-in-law, Almeta Jackson, Bertha Gladden, Mary Jones, Beverly Lofton, and Nancy Lofton; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. 

She will lie in state on Thursday, May 28, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

A family service will be on Friday, May 29, at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Maurice Gilchrist as the eulogist. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
