James Robert McKenzie, 67, of Decatur, Tennessee, passed peacefully from this life into the arms of Jesus on Friday, June 12, 2020.

Robert was born on Dec. 9, 1952, to Weaver and Rosa Lee (Holland) McKenzie. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Jackson.

He was a veteran of the US Armed Forces and retired from Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. He loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Texas Grove Baptist Church for many years. 

Robert leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 48 years, Brenda (Lawson) McKenzie; children Angela (Eric) Bacon, Jeremy McKenzie, Amanda Ricker and Jacob McKenzie; Grandchildren Hayley and Lillian Bacon, John Logan Ziegler, Waylon McKenzie, Shelby Johnson and Delaney Ford; Great-Grandchildren Jayce and Xander Steele; Brother David McKenzie and Sisters Kathy Womack, Janice Lyke, Linda Hutsell and Sister-in-law Tammy Lawson. He also leaves behind a host of extended family members, care givers and dear friends. A special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 16, at 2 p.m. at Texas Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Norman Huskey officiating. Burial will follow at Cottonport Baptist Church Cemetery, with military honors. 
  
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 15, from 5-7 p.m. at Texas Grove Baptist Church.
