Bill May
Bill Randy May, 63, of Soddy Daisy, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020.
Bill was born on September 3, 1956 in Charlotte, NC to the late Elmer and Trudy May. He was a loving father, husband, and grandfather. Bill knew just about all there was to know about trucks and made his early career as a master mechanic and welder. For the last 21 years, he was a truck transporter. He contracted with numerous companies including Worldwide in Chattanooga, American Transport in Cowden, Il., and Truck Movers in Missouri.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Jerlene Mills and grandson, Aaron May.
Those who cherish his memory include his wife, Darla May; sister, Sue Denton of Gastonia, NC; sister, Anne Frank of Charlotte, NC; sister, Darlene Combs of Maiden, NC; brother, Gary May of Fisherville, VA; sister, Etta Morris of Charlotte, NC; son, Randy May of Charlotte, NC; son, Brandon May of Indian Trail, NC; son, Eric May of Charlotte, NC; son, Billy May of Soddy-Daisy, TN; daughter, Amber May of Signal Mountain, TN; son, Joshua May of Soddy-Daisy, TN; Step-son, Casey Hall of East Ridge, TN; step-son, Cameron Hall of Birchwood, TN; grandchildren, Emma May of Charlotte, NC, Haylee and Kaylee May of Indian Trail, NC, Cody and Alexis May of Charlotte, NC, Trevor Hall of Soddy-Daisy, TN, Casey Evan Hall of Hixson, TN, Willow Hall of East Ridge, TN, Landan Hall of Birchwood, TN, Destiny May, Isabela May, and Ivy May, all of Soddy-Daisy, TN; and great grandson, Lucas May of Charlotte, NC.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 3, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson.
Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, July 4, at 12 p.m. with Reverend Gary May officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
