Carrie Mae Gossage, age 92 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life, Thursday August 13, 2020 at Quinton Memorial Health and Rehabilitation.

Carrie was born Aug. 3, 1928 in Cartersville, GA, the daughter of the late Zack Allen and Evelyn Bennett Pickard. She was also preceded in death by her husband Prater Gossage; son, Prater Allen Gossage; daughters, Deborah Cerest; brother, Bobby Pickard; sisters, Pat Scott, Chris Gentry; grandson, Hunter Quinton. Carrie was a big fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, NASCAR and her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon.

Carrie is survived by her grandchildren, Bilson Trantham, Madison Trantham; special friends, Charlene and Allen Headrick, Diane Cochran, Manny Harmon, Martha Hall, David Pritchett and Mike Pritchett.

Service to celebrate the life of Carrie will be held Sunday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel, with Pastor Ronald Guffey officiating. Burial will take place at West Hill Cemetery with Jason Amos, Ryan Amos, Allen Headrick, David Macon, and Mike Pritchett serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Aug. 16, at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
