Georgia Has 56 More Deaths From Coronavirus, 2,391 New Cases

Georgia state health officials reported on Wednesday there have been an additional 56 deaths due to the coronavirus. The new total is 4,849.

There were 2,391 new cases as that total reached 243,982 confirmed cases of coronavirus. 

Hospitalizations are at 22,664, up 235 since Tuesday. 

Here are the numbers by county:

Catoosa County: 738 cases, up 11; 17 deaths; 57 hospitalizations

Chattooga County: 388 cases, up 9; 5 deaths, up 1; 21 hospitalizations, up 2

Dade County: 165 cases, up 4; 2 deaths; 10 hospitalizations

Walker County: 847 cases, up 10; 17 deaths; 45 hospitalizations

Whitfield County: 3,771 cases, up 31; 42 deaths; 198 hospitalizations, up 1

The cases remain centered around the Atlanta area:

Cobb County: 15,247 cases, up 161; 352 deaths, up 3

DeKalb County: 15,422 cases, up 110; 267 deaths, up 1

Fulton County: 22,760 cases, up 276; 479 deaths, up 2

Gwinnett County: 22,196 cases, up 260; 295 deaths, up 2
