Georgia Has 96 New Coronavirus Deaths And 2,989 More Cases

Georgia state health officials reported on Friday there have been an additional 96 deaths due to the coronavirus. The new total is 4,998.

There were 2,989 new cases as that total reached 249,30 confirmed cases of coronavirus. 

Hospitalizations are at 23,125, up 245 since Thursday. 

Here are the numbers by county:

Catoosa County: 757 cases, up 10; 17 deaths; 57 hospitalizations

Chattooga County: 401 cases, up 6; 5 deaths; 23 hospitalizations

Dade County: 173 cases, up 3; 2 deaths; 12 hospitalizations, up 2

Walker County: 882 cases, up 19; 19 deaths, up 1; 48 hospitalizations, up 2

Whitfield County: 3,805 cases, up 15; 43 deaths; 203 hospitalizations, up 3

The cases remain centered around the Atlanta area:

Cobb County: 15,687 cases, up 238; 358 deaths, up 4

DeKalb County: 15,731 cases, up 125; 272 deaths, up 4

Fulton County: 23,375 cases, up 307; 486 deaths, up 5

Gwinnett County: 22,786 cases, up 331; 302 deaths, up 7
