Rebecca Seaton Almond, 69, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her parents T. Eugene and Doris Seaton; brother, Wesley Seaton; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. William S. Bright, all of Chattanooga, TN; and Mr. and Mrs. W. W.  Seaton of Cohutta, GA.

She loved dearly her 12 uncles and 12 aunts, three of whom she is survived by, Suell Seaton Broome of Dalton; and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Seaton of Stone Mountain, Ga. Survivors also include her two sons, Joshua Seaton Almond and Andrew Seaton Almond; stepson, Eric (Tonya) Almond of Charlotte, N.C.; stepmother, Freda Seaton; and 20 first cousins.

She was a native of Chattanooga and a 1969 honor graduate of Brainerd High School, and a 1973 graduate of UTC. While attending UTC, She worked in the athletic office for coach and athletic director, Scrappy Moore, followed by Harold Wilkes, and Mrs. Johnnie Jackson the office manager. Rebecca taught the third grade for 10 years in Memphis City Schools and 18 years in Chattanooga Public Schools.

She loved the Lord and was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, Tn. 37412.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at West Hills Cemetery in Dalton, Ga.
