Posey, Mary Lou Padgett (Cleveland)

  • Tuesday, September 15, 2020
Mary Lou Padgett Posey, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 14, 2020. She was reunited on that day with the love of her life, her husband, James L. Posey. Mary had been a caregiver for several children in her lifetime. Many would still visit her today. She was a longtime member of Birchwood Church of God where she formed a special bond with Tim and Ruth Hamilton. Mary was a prayer warrior and everyone in her community relied on her prayers. She was often on her knees before the Lord intervening for someone, and we can see her now on her knees at the feet of Jesus.

She was the daughter of the late William and Angie Bell Padgett.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Stover and a brother, Billy Padgett.

Mary was the mother of five daughters, Joyce Witt Smith (Doug and Tommy), Brenda Howard (Ray), Donna Wilson (Robert), Kathy O’Haver (Randy) and Sandy Gann (Jim). She had 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Patsy Nicholas and a brother, Johnny Padgett. In addition to these, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

The family will hold a private graveside service at McInturff Cemetery where Mary will be laid to rest.

Share a personal memory of Mary or your condolences with her family at her online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral & Cremation Service and the Cody family are honored to assist the Posey family with these arrangements.
