Corene Brooks
Corene Green Brooks, 73, of Hixson, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 in a local hospital.
She was born January 25, 1947 in Chattanooga to the late John and Cora Green.
Ms. Brooks was preceded in death by four sisters, and six brothers.
She had an extreme love for her family and was an avid animal lover as well.
Survivors include her longtime partner in life, Charles Whaley of Chattanooga; children, Bill Brooks (Michelle) of Ooltewah; Lynda Brooks (Shawn Stewart) of Lafayette; sister, Geraldine Peters of Hixson; grandchildren, Sean, Sarah, Christopher, Shawn, II, Brandon, and Kiley; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Kyler; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Chattanooga and CHI Memorial Hixson.
A private graveside service will be held Friday, Sept. 17, at 3 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
In accordance with the Hamilton County mandate, face coverings are required for those attending the service and all guidelines by the CDC of social distancing must be followed.
