Erwin Joseph "Red" Crider, age 85, of Rocky Face, Georgia, entered Heaven's gates Friday, September 25, 2020.

He was born July 30, 1935 in Rossville, Ga., a son of the late Samuel and Willie Williams Crider. He was also preceded in death by his son, Frank Hall; brothers, Richard Crider, Lamar Crider Kenneth “Pete” Crider; and sister, Kathrine Crider Slaton.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sigrid Crider of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Dean Marler of Dalton, GA, Angela and Mark Carter of Carbondale, GA Teresa and Buddy Ash of Rocky Face, GA; brother, Charles Crider of North Carolina; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Erwin Joseph “Red” Crider will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Matt Ash officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 28.

Due to the national health crisis and the COVID-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
