Tate, Concetta Connie Marie Blount (LaFayette)

Concetta Connie Marie Blount Tate, 66, of LaFayette, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Tate; father, William Monrose Blount; mother, Maria Cinchett Blount; sister, Catherine Blount High; and granddaughter, Kendra Marie Tate.

Connie is survived by her beloved sons, Raymond Wayne Tate II (Donna June) and William Arthur Tate; grandchildren, Levi Henderson, Ashly Miller (Jack) and Ann Henderson; great grandchild, Levynston; she also leaves behind her brothers and sisters: William Alexander Blount (Aida), Fr James Edward Blount, Susan Blount Buckle, Col (ret) Roseanne Blount Warner (Phillip), Fr Anthony Michael Blount, and Maria Blount Delgado (Dennis).

Concetta’s sweet smile, compassionate heart, generous nature and loving outlook endeared her to many.  She always saw the very best in others and never complained. Concetta was kind and quick to help others in need. She was a blessing from God; pure in heart with a light that will remain in our hearts. Concetta will be dearly missed, but we know she is being welcomed in Heaven with an angelic choir to sing her home.

A funeral mass will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Concetta will lie in state at the church prior the service after 10 a.m.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-9 p.m.

Interment will be held at a later date at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
