Lafayette Richardson, age 94, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Hamilton Medical Center.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Womack Richardson; wife, Helen Bennett Richardson; brothers, Judd and Troy Richardson; and sisters, DeEtte Johnson, Josie Stacy, Lucy Deal and Lorene Ridley.

He was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church. He was very proud of his service in WWII and his time playing professional baseball. In his 50+ years as a home builder, he constructed many of the fine homes in the North Georgia area alongside his son and grandson.

He is survived by his children, Betty Jo (Don) Breeden, Stanley (Vickie) Richardson, Donna Richardson; sister, Becky Albertson; grandchildren, Jessica Harris, Ben Richardson, Valerie Richardson; great-grandchildren, Jake and Manny Harris, Elliot Richardson; and numerous nieces and nephews also survived.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the kind management and employees of Pleasant Valley Assisted Living, caregiver, Diane Sanchez, and the nurses and doctors at Hamilton Medical Center.

A private family graveside service will be held.

Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
