Geraldine "Gerri" Chambers Parris, 79, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021, in Chattanooga. 

She was born to Glenn Ervin Chambers and Alice Bonner on January 27, 1941, (her cherished Aunt, Bobby Chambers McCutchen raised her after her mother’s passing) all of whom preceded her in death.

Gerri was raised in Chattanooga, where she attended Howard High School and graduated in 1958. She was a proud graduate of Tennessee State University in 1962 and initiated into her beloved sisterhood of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Alpha Psi Chapter. Geraldine pursued and completed her graduate degree in education at Michigan State University (M.Ed.) in 1979. Gerri was called to eternal rest on January 11, 2021. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Gerri leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted son, Stacy Finnell Parris, II; brother, Glen (Sara) Chambers; god-sister, Wilma McClure Brown; nieces, Nicole (William) Newsom, and Candice Moss; nephew, Willie Moss; god-niece, Felecia Foster; great-nephews, Westin and Waylen Newsom; great niece, Loreale Newsom; a host of beloved relatives, friends and sorority sisters.

Public viewing will be held 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held.
