SGT Matthew Joseph Farrell, III passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021, at his home surrounded by family and loved ones.

He was a dedicated member of the CPL Glenn Pair Dalton Marine Corps League, Detachment #1309.

He was preceded in death by mother, Josephine Farrell and father Matthew Farrell Jr; sister, Joann Frey; and his stepson he loved as his own, Brad Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Farrell; daughters, Tiffany Bunns, Terri Bunns, Susan (Paul David) Worley; grandchildren, Kinsley, Kadence, Anniston, Skylar, Teryn, Andrew, Madison, Brittany, Morgan, Colton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby (Debbie) Cantrell, Roger (Lisa) Cantrell, Raymond (Lisa) Cantrell; and mother-in-law, Beatrice McCamy.

Service to celebrate the life of SGT Matthew Joseph Farrell III will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, at 3 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Chaplain Mark Millican officiating. Interment will follow at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park with Bill Author, Gregory Whitehead, Anthony Wimberly, Kelly Johnson, Kevin Crickard and Todd Brock having the honor as serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Jan. 23, from 1 p.m. until the service hour at 3 p.m. 

Due to the national health crisis and the COVID-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
