Erlanger Appoints Cheryl Wieber As Senior Director Of Cardiovascular Services

The Erlanger Heart and Lung Institute announces Cheryl Wieber, MHA as senior director of cardiovascular services. 
 
In her role, Ms. Wieber will lead the overall operations, quality improvement, program development and clinical education efforts of the Erlanger Heart and Lung Institute. 
 
“Cheryl is a very accomplished healthcare administrator whom we are lucky to have join our team at Erlanger Heart and Lung Institute,” said Senior Vice President of Erlanger Medical Group Meridith O’Keefe.
“She brings to Erlanger a wealth of knowledge about management of cardiovascular services in critical care access hospitals.”
 
Ms. Wieber has over 13 years of administrative leadership experience in healthcare and has overseen clinical areas such as cardiology, vascular surgery and cardiothoracic surgery. She has spent the majority of her career in Michigan, where she gained experience at McLaren Healthcare and Munson Health System. Most recently, Ms. Wieber served as executive director of the heart and vascular department at Munson Healthcare in Traverse City, Mi. In this role, she oversaw the cardiology, vascular surgery and cardiothoracic surgery departments in urban and critical care access hospitals and outreach facilities. 
 
Following the completion of her bachelor of arts in management and organizational development at Spring Arbor University in Michigan, Ms. Wieber earned a master of healthcare administration from the University of Michigan. She has also completed the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Training and Certification in Healthcare. Since her arrival to the area, Ms. Wieber has become involved in the community and joined the Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute.
