Karen Blevins Hood, 58, of Fort Oglethorpe, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at a local hospital. 

 

Karen was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and was a 1981 graduate of Chattanooga Valley High School. She worked many years in the health care industry and had also worked as a florist early in her career. Karen loved flowers, gardening, animals, and she enjoyed her time volunteering for the Catoosa County Animal Shelter’s Rescue Program.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Patricia Blevins.

 

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Ken Hood; two brothers, Tony (Tina) Blevins and Larry (Robin) Blevins; sister, Lisa (Travis) Echols; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

 

In memory of Mrs. Hood, donations may be made to the Catoosa County Animal Shelter at 101 Allmond Lane, Ringgold, Ga. 30736.

 

Condolences may be shared and webcasting will be available at www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Joe Brown officiating.

 

Interment will follow in the TN-GA Memorial Park.

 

The family will receive friends on Friday, from 5-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, Ga.
