Small Visitor Center To Reopen At The Aquarium Plaza

  • Sunday, October 31, 2021

A small Chattanooga Visitor Center will reopen at the Aquarium Plaza.

The Chattanooga Tourism Company (formerly the Convention Bureau) plans to set up in a small building owned by the city of Chattanooga.

It is under the curving concrete half bridge at the plaza.

The city is planning a three-year agreement with extensions for two more years after that.

The charge is $1 per year.

The visitor group at one time had a large Visitor Center in the space now occupied by the Coolidge Medal of Honor Heritage Center.

That was taken by the Chattanooga History Museum, which planned an elaborate museum in the space. The project, under then director Daryl Black, failed after millions of dollars had been raised.
