Alfred Lee Montgomery, age 67, of Lafayette, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
He was born Feb. 16, 1954 in Walker County. He was a member of Mt. Peria Baptist Church in Ringgold, Ga. He worked for over 20 years at Shaw Industries and retired from Nissan Brakes. He enjoyed fishing and watching basketball in his spare time.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Alma Bell Langston Montgomery; grandmother, Viola Langston; grandfather, Alfred C. Langston; and great-grandson, Kingston Lee Lewis.
He is survived by his children, Kotrecia (Derrick, Sr.) Traneta Womble Sims and Stephanie Lashay Montgomery; grandchildren, Traneta Smith, JaWhan Lewis, Terrell Berotte II, Kotrecia “Kay Kay” Berotte, Jaysonn Berotte, Derrick Sims, Jr., Miracle Sims, Trinity Harris, Jerica Battle, Jasmine Battle, Donte Allen, and Malcolm Williams; great-grandchildren, Julia Lewis, Aiden Lewis, Lance Briscoe, Malaysia Baxley, Makala Baxley, Makell Baxley, Maki Williams; brothers, Rev. Johnny (Davonna) Montgomery, Roy (Donyce) Montgomery, Deforest (Sarah) Montgomery; sister, Celeste (Bradford) Hinton; wife, Valerie Ann Montgomery; best friend, Vernon Shropshire; special friend, Fredda Carreathers; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 6, at noon at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Edward Ellis, eulogist.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday.
