Hamilton County government will once again offer to recycle Christmas trees and grind them into mulch that will be available to the public.
Natural Christmas trees without ornaments, lights, tinsel, etc. will be accepted at all five Hamilton County Recycle Centers through Jan. 31.
All centers will be closed New Year’s Day.
Mulch will be available after Jan. 3 at 7625 Standifer Gap Road.
There is no limit on the amount of mulch residents can take since it is based solely on availability, which is an ongoing process thru February.
The pile will be outside the fence at the 7625 Standifer Gap Road location, so it is available anytime for those not needing assistance loading.
If someone wants help to load the mulch with equipment, staff will be able to accommodate Monday thru Thursday from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
Anyone wishing to know more about the availability of mulch can call the Highway Department located be at 7625 Standifer Gap Road at 855-6100.
