Dorothy Keith
Dorothy Clift Keith, 88, of Soddy Daisy, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 7, 2021.
She was a graduate of Soddy Daisy High School Class of 1951. She was a founding member of Soddy Community Chapel and later attended Chattanooga Grace Church of the Nazarene. She was a true believer in the Bible, prayer and in salvation. She was an avid bowler, bowling in local leagues and in nationwide tournaments from Ohio to Las Vegas. After her retirement in 1994, from a career in the mortgage business, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. For more than 30 years she looked forward to the annual Christmas shopping weekend trip with the same five people and planning and hosting her annual New Year’s Eve Party.
She was preceded in death by parents William and Edith Clift; brothers, Russell, Robert and Charles; sisters, Ada Marie and Gerry.
Surviving Dorothy are her husband of 66 years, and love of her life, Raymond; daughter, Sheila (Gene) Varner and son, Marcus (Stephanie) Keith, 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, sister, Anna Mae Skates, brothers and sisters-in-law: Paul Keith, Jack (Lou) Keith, Helen Daugherty, Ruth Bailey and Pam Keith, several nieces and nephews cousins and many special friends that claimed her as mom.
A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. in the Soddy Presbyterian Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Hanson officiating.
A special thank you to the caregivers from Hospice of Chattanooga, Dayton office, Cassie and Amanda, who forever will be a part of our family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, Dayton office.
