Georgia Has 173 New Coronavirus Deaths; 2,237 New Cases

Georgia state health officials reported on Friday there have been 173 additional deaths due to the coronavirus. The current total is 14,530.

There were 2,237 new cases, as that total reached 800,959 confirmed cases of coronavirus. 

Hospitalizations are at 54,434, 261 more than Thursday.

Here are the numbers by county:

Catoosa County: 4,950 cases, up 23; 54 deaths, up 1; 209 hospitalizations, up 2

Chattooga County: 2,051 cases, up 2; 57 deaths; 152 hospitalizations, up 2

Dade County: 1,065 cases, up 4; 9 deaths; 51 hospitalizations

Walker County: 5,700 cases, up 40; 69 deaths; 232 hospitalizations

Whitfield County: 14,013 cases, up 20; 199 deaths, up 2; 682 hospitalizations
