Sandra Pittman

Mrs. Sandra Ann Scruggs Pittman was born on August 19, 1947, and took her heavenly flight on March 4, 2021.

Sandra accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She attended Howard High School. She was a faithful, active, and dedicated member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. There she served on the Usher Board for over 40 years until her health failed.

While at Standifer Place nursing home, she began to worship occasionally with Reverend Bobby Hampton and Hawkinsville Baptist Church family. Sandra loved the Lord, her family, and her church family. She never met a stranger she told everyone she met about Jesus Christ while quoting scriptures.

She had an outstanding personality and memory of birthdays and dates of everyone she met and knew. If you ever told her anything, she would remember even if she saw you 10 or 20 years later. She would say “I don't forget anything. I got a mind like a computer.” She loved everyone, especially the North Chattanooga community. She loved anyone in uniform whether they were a fireman, EMS, military, and especially. police.

Sandra was a people person and some of her famous sayings were “You better get right, act right, and live right. Keep your mind on Jesus.” She’d also say, “If you don't love me, you don't love Jesus.” Two of her favorite Bible quotes. Were John 3:16 and John 14:1-3, 6.

Sandra was truly an evangelist for God in her own way. If she was here today, she would be telling you about Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John T Pittman. Parents, Reverend Floyd and Geneva Scruggs; grandparents, Henry and Rosena Wyche, Leonard, and Emma Bryson; sister, Sabrina Scruggs; nephew, Ronnie L. Pickett; aunt and uncle, Juanita and Johnny Mills; uncles, Henry, Calvin, and Ivory Wyche; brothers-in-law, Ronnie O. Pickett, and David Billingsley.

She leaves to cherish her memories, sister, Pastor Rosena P. Billingsley; nephews, Terence (Gwendolyn) Pickett, Leon Pickett, and Jarel Jones; nieces, Natasha (Demetrius) Alexander, Sr., Janet Pickett, Jakavia Brydie; great-nephews, Adam and Joshua Pickett, Antwan (DJ), and Terence Alexander; great-niece, Dasha Tate; brother-in-law, Jimmy Pittman; sister-in-law, Mary Pittman; a host of other relatives and friends.
