For the second week in a row the Lee baseball program has set a program record for highest NCAA Ranking, coming it at No. 2 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association National Poll. The Flames also retained their top spot in the highly competitive South Region.
The Flames are 14-2 in their last 16 games and 25-4 overall while leading the Gulf South Conference with a 20-3 mark.
Led by ace Logan Workman the Lee pitching staff is 15th in the nation in team ERA (3.52).
Workman is 16th with a 1.21 ERA while Andy Rivera leads the nation in saves with eight. Ryan Beamish slugged two more home runs on Friday evening against Shorter and is tops in the country with 14.The slugging left-hander is fifth in RBI with 45. Landon Silver follows with 37 RBI and has committed just one error in 59 chances in center field.
The Flames will travel to West Alabama for a weekend conference battle. The three-game series will open up on Saturday at 6 p.m. followed by a Sunday twin bill at 1 p.m.
