Helen B. O’Dell, 78, died on April 17, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family, after a short battle of breast cancer.
Helen was born on Feb. 8, 1943. She was a very outgoing, mischievous woman (just ask her sisters) and knew what she wanted. When she first saw Sonny O’Dell she told her Mom that she had met the man she was going to marry. They were married 49 years at his death.
She loved to work in the yard and garden, she would prefer that over housework any day. She worked a few jobs in her life, but loved to travel (loafer) the best.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny O’Dell; parents, Floyd and Louise Bearden; and brother, Willard Bearden.
Left to celebrate her life is her son, Darrell O’Dell; daughter, Crystal O’Dell (Terry); two grandchildren, Sonnie and Jordan O’Dell; one great-grandson, Leland O’Dell; sisters, Dorothy Hartline, of Trenton and Faye Nicholas and Charlotte Bearden, of Flat Rock, Al.; and several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20 at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, with Brother Thomas Bearden officiating. She will be laid to rest at Brown Gap Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 19 from 4-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
