The McLemore Songwriters Series had a sell-out of May’s inaugural performance by Patrick Davis and this month’s performance featuring Ken Block and Andrew Copeland of Sister Hazel.  The July installment of the McLemore Songwriters Series will feature acclaimed Nashville-based singer-songwriter Channing Wilson, who also happens to be one of Walker County’s native sons.

Mr. Wilson will take the stage at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, at the Bier Garden at McLemore.
In 2018, Mr. Wilson signed with Warner Chappell and Low Country Sound (Grammy award winning producer Dave Cobb). He co-wrote “She Got the Best Of Me” with Luke Combs, which became 2018’s most played song of country radio and sat at top of the charts for four weeks reaching platinum status.

Mr. Wilson’s songs have been recorded by artists Tyler Farr, Luke Combs, Riley Green, Jason Eady, William Clarke Green, Django Walker, Chris Canterbury and more. He has shared bills with many of his heroes, including Billy Joe Shaver, Steve Earle, Robert Earl Keen, Tony Joe White, Chris Knight and Dale Watson.

Duane Horton, president of McLemore, said, “Evening performances at McLemore are a special way to celebrate the summer season. The beauty of the concert venue literally frames the music for each performance.  We love welcoming new friends and guests. These intimate performances allow us to showcase what a special place McLemore truly is and give guests and Members a couple of hours to relax and unwind from their week.”

Tickets are extremely limited and expected to sell out quickly.  Those interested may purchase tickets online at https://www.themclemore.com/music.  In addition, an evening of dining awaits prior to each performance at The Creag, located within McLemore’s Clubhouse.  Limited dinner reservations may be made thru Open Table here

Upcoming performances include Lauren Jenkins on Aug. 19, James Otto on Sept. 19.  Kristian Bush of Sugarland will close out the series on Oct. 21.
