Volkswagen officials said Monday they are ending the production of the Chattanooga-made Passat sedan next year.
Thousands of Passats have come off the line at the facility at Enterprise South Industrial Park.
Automakers are continuing to shift from sedans to larger SUVs.
The last Passat production will be model year 2022.
