Alicia Denise Langston, born on June 15, 1955, and passed away on July 29, 2021, in Chattanooga.

 

She was the daughter of Walter “WC” Tate and Dorothy Scott Lacy, II.

 

Alicia was a devoted member of Thompkins Chapel AME Zion Church. She was a graduate of City High School, Class of 1973.

 

Alicia was retired and, in her leisure, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, planting flowers, cooking, and catching up on the latest soap opera. Did we mention cooking!!! She looked forward to her family gatherings and being able to travel.

 

With her quick wit and humorous personality, she was the life of the party.

 

Alicia was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Langston; parents, Dorothy Scott W. Lacy, II, and Walter “WC” Tate; sister, Brenda Holloway, nephew, Edward Mikes, Jr., and Beloved cousin, Patricia Gates.

 

Alicia leaves to cherish her memories, children, Reginald Lacy, Rodrick and Ramika McGee, stepson, Ricus Langston; sisters, Angela Denis, Priscilla (Travis) Rivers, Charlotte (Eric) Appleberry, Deborah, Venus, Sonya, and Theresa Lacy, Regina, Vida, and Cherretha Tate, Cheryl Langston, all of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Vanessa Langston, of Oklahoma; brothers, Scott (Valerie) Lacy, Carlos, Michael, Calvin, Malcolm, and Von Tate, of Chattanooga; aunts, Dymple O’Neal and Betty Jane Riddle, both of Chattanooga; brother-in-law, Robert Langston, Jr., of Kentucky; Robert Holloway, of Chattanooga; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

 

A memorial service will be held at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 2305 East Third Street. Attendance will be limited to family only.
