Robert Williams
Robert Williams, Jr., 76, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021, in Chattanooga.
Robert was born in Seaton Dump, Arkansas, to Mr. Robert Williams, Sr. and Nellie Williams.
He served in the United States Army, and Arkansas Army National Guard.
Robert worked in various capacities. He was a Broadcast Engineer, Electrical engineer, and personality DJ Bob Wham.
He was known as a champion of people, promoter of education, and passionate about self-improvement. Robert certainly could be described with other words than intelligent, ambitious, motivating, inspiring, and accomplished. Lots of memories shared by cousins all around him, stated he was totally inspiring. He gave them empowerment to pursue their goals/education/careers. He could see so much potential in them. His belief in what they could accomplish gave them confidence in themselves.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Williams and Nellie Williams; sisters, Earnestine Bryant, Ozzie B Shephard, triplets, Bertha Carthron, Searcy Jackson and Earsie Maxwell; brothers, Moses Williams, Thess Williams, Freddie Williams, and Willie Williams; grandsons, Robert LaWayne Smith, Jr., and Romeo Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories, Joy Underwood Lifelong Love Chattanooga, Tennessee; daughters, Sharlor Williams, Daughter Townsend, Delaware, Jacquelyn McCleary (Mark), North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Narium Williams, North Little Rock, Arkansas; sons, Robert Williams, III ,North Little Rock, Arkansas, bonus son, Corey Underwood, Chattanooga, Tennessee; sisters, Daisey Williams Dixon, North Little Rock, Arkansas, Nellie Williams Woolfolk, North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Sarah Williams Riggs, North Little Rock, Arkansas; brothers, Lonnie Williams, Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kristina McCleary (McDonough, GA), Bryan McCleary (Cabot, AR), Atonua Williams-Norwood (Townsend, DE), Dontae Smith, Lanyia Smith, Kanesha Lee, Catherine Williams, Robert Williams, IV, Briana Williams, Kayla Williams, all of North Little Rock, Arkansas; bonus grandchildren, Martina Carpenter Stone, CJ Underwood, and Thomas Underwood;11 great grandchildren; 4 bonus great grandchildren; 2 bonus great-great grandchildren; a host of nephews and nieces; other family members and friends, Joyce M Williams, Emma Sykes(Jessie), Ricardo Sykes, Tiffany Jeneen.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 3, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
