South Pittsburg Coach Chris Jones Leaving For The Canadian Football League

South Pittsburg High School Head Football Coach Chris Jones is leaving his squad effective immediately.

He will take a defensive coordinator position with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.

South Pittsburg High Principal Paige Hill said Heath Grider and Wesley Stone will take over the head coaching duties jointly.

Heath Grider is the brother of former South Pittsburg head coach Vic Grider.  He serves as athletic director and vice principal.

Stone has been an assistant at South Pittsburg for 20 years.

A decision on a permanent coach will be made later.

South Pittsburg next plays Whitwell.
