Wonderful, Kind, And Generous Lady Was Known For Her Sense Of Humor

Sarah Lucille Dean Jones, 66, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2021, after a brief illness. 

Sarah was born in Chattanooga and graduated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, Notre Dame High School, and the University of Tennessee, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree.

She was predeceased by her parents, John E. and Catherine Crimmins Dean, her sister, Mary Catherine Dean, and her brother, Joseph Patrick Dean.

Sarah is survived by her husband, R.B. "Fort" Jones, their sons, Warwick Jones and Matthew Jones, granddaughter, Giada Jones, brother-in-law, Bob Mahoney, Jr., and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sarah was a wonderful, kind, generous lady who always put others before herself, was devoted to her family and faith and was always prayerful, positive, and joyful.  She was known for her wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. Loving to cook, she loved baking theme based items for friends and family.

She began her career at Provident Life & Accident Insurance Company in Chattanooga in 1980, where she was still actively employed at the company which is now known as UNUM.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, Sept. 27, at 12 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 930 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, TN 37415.

Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church prior to the funeral mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made in Sarah's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or a charity of your choosing.
