Pamela Carter
Pamela Elaine Glenn-Carter, 68, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021, in a Long Beach, California hospital.
She was born July 18, 1953 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, daughter of the late Arthur Eugene Glenn and Gloria Dean Glenn-Crosby. She attended Chattanooga Public Schools to include Howard High School, class of 1971, which she was an active participant in class activities until 2013. Pamela moved to Los Angeles, California in 1971 where she attended the Patricia Stevens Business School. She was employed by Cedar Sinai Medical Center and Slate and Leoni Law Firm. Pamela was a member of Saint Andrews Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the Cathedral Choir. She also was a member of the Occidental Inspirational Voices under the direction of Shedrick G. Wise, Jr. Pamela became a licensed cosmetologist in 1989. She was a co-owner of the Khadim of African fashions in Inglewood, California. She was a member of the Route 66 Motorcycle Club where she was known as Pamalot. Pamela moved back to Chattanooga in 1999, where she was employed with Erlanger Hospital for nearly 10 years. She continued her high school class activities and was a member of the Cancerian birthday club.
Pamela was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Crosby; father, Arthur Glenn; beloved stepfather, James Crosby; brothers, Orlando Glenn and Jerry Crosby; and stepsister, Daphrine Crosby.
She leaves to cherish her memory two beloved daughters, Chuntrell Glenn and Laquanna (Maurice) Blackwell, both of Los Angeles; three grandsons, Terrence Riley, Sr., Maurice Blackwell, and Dylen Blackwell; one granddaughter, Jordyn Blackwell; two great-grandchildren, Sinai Riley and Terrence Riley, Jr.; sisters, Patricia (Gregory) Beck of Chattanooga, and Keely (David) Walker of Loganville, Ga.; stepsisters, Celestine (Michael) Hawkins of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Felix (Dan) Crosby of Woodbridge, Va.; brother, Robert Glenn of Chattanooga; stepbrother, James (Brenda) Crosby, Jr. of Long Beach, Ca.; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. (PDT) at St. Andrews Missionary Baptist Church, 1794 W. 36th Place, Los Angeles, Ca. 90018 with Bishop Alex Toussaint as the eulogist.
