Virginia Clayton
Virginia Lee Clayton, 77, of Rossville, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at her home.
She was born on Aug. 17, 1944, in Trion, Georgia to the late Robert Jesse and Georgia Helen Nunn.
Mrs. Clayton was a 1962 graduate of Chattanooga City High School and retired from the city of East Ridge as the business tax clerk. She was a member of Anchor of Hope Baptist Church. Virginia’s passions in life were God and her family. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Her husband, Charles Knight Clayton preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son Dennis (Wendy) Clayton of Franklin, TN; daughter, Pamela (Kent) Pettyjohn of Ringgold; sister, Ann Trentham of Huntsville, Al.; sisters-in-law, Jean Coffman of Soddy Daisy, Glenda Clayton of Red Bank, and Martha Holt of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga South especially Candice Henderson, Judy Roden, and family caregiver, Tammy Hickman.
Due to Covid-19, the family will have a private service with family friend, Don Key, officiating.
Interment will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South in Rossville, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
