Georgia Updates COVID Numbers With 118 More Deaths, 79,739 New Cases Since Wednesday

Georgia state health officials updated the current coronavirus numbers on Monday, which had not been updated since Wednesday due to issues reported with ELR. It reported on Monday there have been 118 additional deaths due to the coronavirus. The current total is 26,589.

There are 79,739 new cases since the last report, as that total reaches 1,572,899 confirmed cases of coronavirus. 

Hospitalizations are at 97,538, which is an increase of 1,297 since last reported on Wednesday.

Here are the numbers by county, last updated Wednesday:

Catoosa County: 9,718 cases, up 385; 99 deaths

Chattooga County: 4,147 cases, up 164; 98 deaths, up 1

Dade County: 2,055 cases, up 47; 20 deaths, up 1

Walker County: 10,853 cases, up 307; 140 deaths, up 2

Whitfield County: 21,990 cases, up 1,013; 334 deaths, up 1
