McLemore’s Songwriter Series, presented by FirstBank, will conclude on Thursday, Oct. 20, with a performance by singer, songwriter Griffin House. House will bring a fun, playful show to the mountain with stripped down music that requires minimal production, allowing the band to play together as opposed to over one another.
Review for Griffin House:
House has toured extensively, opening for acts including John Mellencamp, Josh Ritter, Mat Kearney, and The Cranberries, and has played with the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Willie Nelson. House has enjoyed success as national headliner for over a decade and has earned respect as a well-known performer and singer-songwriter, but he does not take himself or his career in the music industry too seriously.
House was poised to be more of an “overnight success,” rather than a “rising star.” “I’ve been a ‘rising star’ for the past 15 years,” House jokes. “It’s a slow rise.”
House’s new record, “Stories for a Rainy Day,” is a collection of nine songs written during the pandemic and recorded in just 3 days, and is being described as his most happy and upbeat yet.
As the final show of this year’s Songwriter Series, audiences are encouraged to make reservations early to ensure their seats at the intimate venue located high above McLemore Cove.
