In addition to his wife Carlene, he is survived by his children, daughters: Tina S. (Conrad) Smith, Greenpond, SC, Joy S. (Brian) Preveaux, Mullins, SC, and son: Shane B. Smyly, Round O, SC., his grandchildren: C. Joseph Smith, III, Greenpond, SC, Sherrie L. Smyly, Jacksonville, FL, Erin C. Preveaux, Cottageville, SC and Matthew C. Preveaux, Sarasota, FL., Great Grandchildren: Whitne Vogt and Brantley Vogt, Jacksonville, FL., A niece:  Gina G. (Bob) Reardon, Tega Cay, SC, whom he considered as a bonus daughter and several nieces and nephews, Stepchildren, which he also considered his bonus son and daughter: Michelle E. Lucas, Brian Nichols, Stepchildren grandchildren: Britanny Nichols, Alyssa Nichols, and Step Great Grandchildren: Brooklynn Skye Nichols.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
