William “Paul” Perrine, 71, is now soaring on the wings of eagles after his long and grueling battle with cancer and kidney disease ended on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022.
Paul was born January 2, 1951 in Little Rock, AR to Jim and Darlene Perrine, the third of their four sons. The family moved to Brighton in West Tennessee shortly after Paul was born. Paul graduated from Brighton High School in West Tennessee.
He was a proud graduate of Memphis State where he earned an accounting degree. Much of his professional career was in the accounting field, including a number of years with the Department of Revenue as an auditor.
Paul is survived by Emily, his wife of 38 years, in addition to brothers Larry (Nancy) of Freeport, FL., and James “J.P.” (Linda) of Knoxville. Also step-children Todd Grainger (Teresa) of Hixson and Martha Beavers of Henderson, CO.
Other survivors include brother-in-law, John Hunt of Chattanooga and his wife Althea and sister-in-law Nancy Follis of Hixson. Step-grandchildren include Luke and Patrick Grainger of Hixson and Ruby Beavers of Henderson, CO. Nieces include Melissa Smith, Mariel Nowakowski and Lauren Fletcher and nephew Alex Perrine.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dan.
Paul was a long-time member of the Hixson Kiwanis Club and Hixson United Methodist Church and the Wesley Sunday School class.
A memorial service celebrating Paul’s life will be held on Friday, Oct. 7 at Hixson United Methodist Church with visitation there from noon until 1 p.m., the time of the service.
