Jack, Cecilia Brown (Athens)

Cecilia Brown Jack, 81, of Athens, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Starr Regional Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was the daughter of the late Cecil and Ruby Miller Brown. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, was a longtime employee of Kroger and was an avid reader.

She is survived by a son, Hershell Ray Jack, Jr., of Mableton, Ga.; daughters and spouses, Diane and Cleve Freeman, of Sylvania, Ga. and Julie Jack and Jerry Hagaman, of Delano; granddaughter, Kate (Mark) Haslam; three grandsons, Davis and Sam Warren and Jim (Casey) Freeman; brothers, Charles Brown, of Riceville and Gary (Judy) Brown, of Johnson City; brother-in-law, Paul (Beverly) Jack, of Nashville; two great-grandchildren, Gwyn and Welles Haslam; and her beloved pet, Jax.

A memorial service will be conducted 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with Rev. Claire Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to E.G. Fisher Library, 1289 Ingleside Ave., Athens, Tn. 37303, or an animal shelter of your choice.
