Jan Bowman Erb, 73, of Hixson, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022.

Jan was born in Chattanooga to the late Robert E. and Clara Louise Rochester Bowman. She was retired from Erlanger Hospital and currently employed with Hamilton County Department of Education, Child Care at Middle Valley Elementary. Jan was a longtime member of the Chattanooga Church of Christ, (C3) and served in the children’s ministry for over 48 years. She loved planting and growing flowers, taking care of her dogs and was an avid Tennessee Vols fan. Jan loved her family and being with them.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Bowman.

Jan is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ken Erb; children, Kenny Erb, Mandy Erb Smith, Mary Erb Blanks and husband, Pete; granddaughters, Baylee Erb, Mayson and Lexi Smith; 3 great grandchildren;

The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Jan’s life will follow at 5 p.m. on Saturday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
