Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church celebrated their 135th anniversary with guest speaker, Dr. Roderick Thompson, who preached as message from Revelation 3:14-22 entitled, “The See Saw Church."
A memorial tribute was given for two deceased faithful members, Mr. Michael Mitchell and Mrs. Juliette Moore. Two young ladies came to the church; one for reinstatement and one as a new member.
Continuous Dedicated Service Awards were presented to Deacon Fred Murray, Mrs. Janie Gantt, Minister Steve Trimble and Ms.
Elizabeth Smith. Humanitarian Awards were presented to Rodney Billups (Herman’s Diner) and Marsha Hayes (Rainbow Daycare Center).
"We were elated to have several guests visiting us," officials said. "The Music Ministry, Usher Ministry, Program Ministry, Finance Ministry and Media Ministry were in full amour. The Kitchen Ministry prepared a delicious meal after service. We give all thanks and praises to God who has truly blessed our day because we have been 'Leaning on the Everlasting Arms for 135 years.' Isaiah 40:28-31."
