The St. Elmo/Alton Park Post Office has temporarily been closed "for safety reasons."
Officials said the retail area is closed, but P.O. Box access continues.
The facility is on W. 40th Street near the South Chattanooga Recreation Center.
Officials said further announcements will be made.
