Larry Dale ”Buckey” “Gravedigger” Moore
Larry Dale ”Buckey” “Gravedigger” Moore, age 68, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 14, 2022.
He was born on Dec. 18, 1953, to the late Arlen ”Peanut” Moore and Nova Lea ”Cricket” Moore.
Dale was employed by the Bradley County Road Department but was widely known for the many years he spent digging graves for local funeral homes. His passion for dirt track racing earned him many friends and he also enjoyed playing gospel music at Kinser Church of God for over 30 years where he also served on the board of trustees and the security team.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Wynn Moore; his daughter Brandi Davis; grandsons, Jayden and Ethan Davis; stepson, Daryl Fain; and sister, Vicki Botts, her husband Arnold and nephews, Eric and Andy Botts.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Avenue Chapel.
A Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Wildwood Chapel, officiated by Reverend Guinn Green and Reverend Andy Botts. Interment will follow at Earls Cemetery with Tony McAlister, Bob Murphy, Kent Hicks, Randal Hicks, Jeremy Hicks and Jerry Hicks serving as casket bearers.
