Harriet Caulkins Moore
Harriet Caulkins Moore passed away peacefully and into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on December 24, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilford Caulkins Jr. and Helen Taylor Caulkins, Lookout Mountain, Tn.; husband, Mack William Moore Jr., Dalton, Ga.; brother, Billy Caulkins, Lookout Mountain, Tn.; and sister, Helen (Brownie) Brown, Pulaski, Tn.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her children, Helen Breter (Greg), Signal Mountain, Tn., Mimi Evans (Terry), Dalton, Ga, Mack William Moore III, Dalton, Ga. and Wilford Caulkins Moore (Karen), St. Augustine, Fl. She was “Nana” to her beloved grandchildren, Steve White (Katie), Jackson Hole Wy., Andy White (Stacey), Signal Mountain, Tn., Taylor White, Dalton, Ga., Laura Wilson (Tommy), Ponte Vedra, Fl., Terry Evans Jr., Atlanta, Ga., Hallee Moore, Atlanta, Ga. and Mary Moore, Atlanta, Ga. Great-grandchildren are Sara, Katelynn, and J.D. White, Will and Walker White, Thomas and Mimi Wilson.
She graduated high school with honors from Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga, Tn. and afterwards earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with honors in Psychology from Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia, Pa.
She cherished her role as mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her church, her family was her highest priority always making sure holidays and birthdays were special. She was especially happy when visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian faith and member of ChristChurch Presbyterian in Dalton, Ga. where she served her Lord and the church in numerous volunteer roles for over 60 years.
She spent much of her life playing bridge becoming one of the regions top players. She earned her Life Master Bridge certificate at the age of 90.
The family would like to thank her special sitters as well as the staff and caregivers at Orchard Ridge Residences.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4, in the sanctuary at 12 p.m. at ChristChurch Presbyterian, 510 South Tibbs Rd., Dalton, Ga. The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall prior to the service from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
