Tiffany Townsend ’95 is returning to her alma mater to head Baylor’s advancement office bringing 22 years of experience in independent school advancement, including leadership in major gifts, annual fund, alumni relations, event management, communications and marketing, as well as classroom teaching and coaching experience.

“Following a national search, I am excited that we are filling this position with someone as qualified as Tiffany," said Baylor's Head of School Chris Angel '89. " She not only has the professional experience needed to manage Baylor’s fundraising and related advancement initiatives, but she also brings important insights into our school and alumni community as a Baylor alumna."

A graduate of Vanderbilt University, Ms. Townsend has served as Ensworth School’s director of Marketing and Communications since 2015, where she oversees internal and external communications to ensure consistency of branding and messaging.  Prior to that she was the director of Annual Fund and Alumni Relations and assistant director of Development for 10 years, growing the annual fund from $650,000 to $1.2 million and increasing parent participation from 67 percent to 80 percent, and was also a member of the leadership team for a successful $40 million capital campaign.  Additionally, Ms. Townsend coached lacrosse and soccer at Ensworth in the middle school and upper school divisions. Before joining the advancement office at Ensworth, Ms. Townsend was the director of Alumni Relations and Publications at Davidson Academy, where she also taught Latin in grades 8-12.

"I am thrilled and honored to return to my alma mater and serve in this role to help advance the mission of a school that I love,” said Ms. Townsend. “Baylor leads as one of the nation's top independent schools, and I look forward to working with Chris Angel, the leadership team, the advancement team, and the entire Baylor community to generate support and excitement to ensure the school's continued growth and success.”

As chief advancement officer at Baylor, Ms. Townsend will be responsible for the oversight of all fundraising and related advancement programs including The Baylor Fund, alumni relations, fundraising campaigns, donor relations, major and planned gifts, prospect research, and support services. Ms. Townsend is replacing Matt Lewis ’74, who will remain at Baylor to focus on planned giving strategies following more than 30 years of leadership in alumni relations and fundraising.
