Homer Michael “Mike” Shipp, 74, of Ringgold, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at his home. 

 

He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area where he was a 1966 graduate of Kirkman High School.  Mike retired in 2009 as a machinist with Tennessee Rand Company with 26 years of service.  Mike loved his wife, grandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly.  He loved traveling to the beach, spending time with his family and he always had his home open to others.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Ruby Shipp; and sister, Cheryl Culver.

 

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Angie Shipp; three children, Shannon (Ronnie) Stewart, Andrea (Travis) Easter, and Angelese (Ethan) Mackey; two sisters, Anna Fay (Don) Weathers and Bessie Miller; nine grandchildren, Amanda (Paul) Goodman, Eric Stewart, Daniel Stewart, Ruby Francis, Raven Easter, Michael Rayce Mackey, Emmett Mackey, Conner Mackey, and Lennox Lenny Mackey; three great grandchildren, Jaley Goodman, Leeland Goodman, and Lucy Reece Goodman; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, at 5 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Joe Gill officiating.

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
