For more than 60 years, I’ve been an engaged citizen in this community and I’m supporting Mike Dumitru for Hamilton County Circuit Court judge, Division II.
Mike is an outstanding lawyer who, as a partner at Miller and Martin, has represented plaintiffs and defendants, individuals, large corporations and small businesses in Hamilton County and in Tennessee and federal courts across the Southeast. Mike’s legal expertise and extensive knowledge will serve this community well.
Mike, a graduate of Vanderbilt Law, has earned the respect of his colleagues in the Chattanooga and Tennessee legal community and was chosen for the selective Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law program. Mike is clear in his arguments, respectful in his questioning, has an enviable command of the law and the issues and is a man of the highest integrity.
I have known Mike Dumitru for over 15 years and I know his character; Mike is a conservative who understands that the role of the judiciary is to apply the law as written by the legislature, not to legislate from the bench. More than most citizens, Mike understands the importance of the ‘rule of law’. His parents fled from a communist country where there was no separation of power and where the same person created, interpreted and enforced the law - - with no input from the citizens or the legal profession. That respect for our government based on the U. S. Constitution and the laws crafted by the U. S. Congress and state legislatures emerged from conversations with his extended family as they recalled the evils of communist totalitarianism. Mike’s desire to serve reflects those values imparted by his family, his faith and his community.
Mike is a constitutional scholar and a hard-working attorney who has balanced his professional achievements with service to the Chattanooga and Hamilton County communities through a number of volunteer and board leadership positions and a devotion to his wife, Jessica Mines Dumitru, and their two children, Noah and Rory.
Why am I voting for Mike Dumitru? I’m voting for Mike because he has the legal knowledge, the courtroom experience both in bench and jury trials, the temperament, work ethic and character traits that insure he will become an outstanding Hamilton County Circuit Court judge.
