I have been reading some of the opinions of the citizens in Hamilton County and I am glad we can share our opinions. I for one have worked closely with Sabrena and I know her character and her appreciation for the people of Hamilton County. She has done more for this county than some and will continue to do so. It isn't as easy to fix things like everyone wants; yes, we all want the roads to be fixed, but there are steps that have to be followed with the funds.
Sabrena is doing the very best she can, with the way things are going. She is successful and has worked hard for the people of Hamilton County. Please someone tell me what have the other two done for Hamilton County? If I thought either had experience in being mayor, I would have a hard time choosing.
I have not received any other communication that people are talking about from any candidate. This is the way politics goes, though, when one candidate feels things are unfair, pulling out the big guns, and all comes next - the dirty politics. It doesn't matter if it wasn't something approved by the person, it is people who support them and the group's name is attached with the flyer.
I was disappointed that one candidate couldn't be bothered with the last debate. I haven't seen either of those candidates coming around in East Brainerd talking with the people. Oh, I am sure people will say it is East Brainerd, what do you all need. We need just as much as every area in Hamilton County.
Example: we have the former East Brainerd Elementary site that finally got mowed, but has sat empty since the school was torn down. Rumors are that anyone who develops it will have to install a traffic light. So instead, it sits empty.
How about a park? Nice little track around to walk, basketball court, pickle ball, bocce ball courts. Wouldn't that be nice? If you drive down that road next to the old school, you will see lots of new townhomes and apartments are being built, which is why a park makes more sense.
Please, people of Hamilton County, go with someone who has the experience, works hard, isn't afraid to say no and the door will always be open to talk. Sabrena is who we need representing us, the people of Hamilton County. Let's change Hamilton County and get away from the good 'ole boy network and elect someone who has a vision and plans to take Hamilton County to the next level.
